What is CQUEAN?

 

CQUEAN means Camera for QUasars in EArly uNiverse. It is an optical CCD camera specifically designed to search for quasar candidates in early universe. This instrument project is a part of works of Center for Exploration of Origin of the Universe, Seoul National University (http://bigbang.snu.ac.kr). It is developed in collaboration with Prof. Myungshin Im (Seoul National University) and Prof. Soojong Pak (Kyung Hee University). CQUEAN is now a visitor instrument of the Otto Struve 2.1 m telescope at the McDonald Observatory, Texas, US.
